Carbon steel casting process include charging, heating, insulation and cooling,etc.To determine the specific process parameters is based on to the steel casting quality,but pay special attention to "energy-saving".
1.charging:the carbon steel casting should be evenly heated to prevent its deformation in the heat treatment furnace and make full use of heat treatment furnace production capacity.
2.heating: for the general carbon steel sand castings, should make full use of heat treatment furnace production capacity to heat rapidly and do not limit the heating rate. If the conditions are available,it can be hot stove charging method to shorten the heating time as much as possible
Slow heating not only reduces the production capacity of the equipment and increases the energy consumption.Carbon steel castings are at high temperature for a long time which will make the surface oxidation and decarburization intensified.
For the complex structure of carbon steel castings, in order to avoid its thermal stress during heating caused by deformation or cracking.Carbon steel casting in a plastic state can heat up quickly.
3. insulation function. At present,carbon steel and low alloy steel that for steel casting production are generally hypoeutectoid steel. annealing, normalizing, quenching and homogenization treatment to heat the steel casting to the upper critical point (Ac,),so that steel structure is completely transformed into austenite, and achieve the organization of the homogenization in a certain extent.This heating and heat preservation is usually referred to as "austenitization". The higher the temperature, the faster the process of austenite, the organization is also easier to even, but the growth of austenite grain is also more obvious. Therefore, the heat treatment can not make the austenitizing temperature too high to avoid grain growth.
